Rewards

Ekoma's rewards 101
When designing Ekoma, we wanted to create a system that was versatile and user-friendly. We decided to create a dedicated section in your administration panel for you to create and manage all of your rewards in one place so you can keep better track of what kind of rewards you are offering. Because strategy is all about consistency, and it matters!

Currency
Your currency is the the type of points your are offering your customers for positive actions to support your brand. Don’t hesitate to brand your currency, change its name to match your value and spark the interest in your customer’s mind.
Coupons
Coupons are the bread and butter of Rewards Programs and retail marketing nowadays. Synchronized with your Shop, they won’t need anything on your end to be created or redeemed by your customers. With Ekoma, you can create three types of coupons:
- Free Shipping
- Percentage off
- Fixed amount off
Do I need to manually create the coupon codes?
Ekoma will automatically generate a new coupon code every time one of your customers receive such reward, either by exchanging them against some points or through diverse actions. These rewards are always useful and help convert new indecisive customers.

Available Coupons' Attributes
The status refer to rather your customers will be able to redeem this coupon. It does not affect the coupon that have already been redeemed. When switched off, the coupon is not redeemable anymore.
The name refers to the title that will be displayed to your customers to describe the type of coupon. Make it explicit so your customers understand what they are getting.
e.g. $15 off discount
Ekoma provides 3 types of coupons you can choose from:
Fixed amount
A fixed amount coupon is a value off discount. The value will adapt to the currency set up on your store.
E.g. $15 off discount (if your store is set up in USD)
Percentage
The percentage coupon allows you to create a percentage off discount coupon.
E.g. %5 off discount
Free Shipping Discount
The free shipping discount allows you to create a coupon that will write off the shipping amount for your customers.
The value represent the value of the coupon. This option is only available for percentage and fixed amount coupons.
If you are setting value to 5 and your coupon type to percentage, the coupon generated will be a 5% discount coupon.
Same for the fixed amount coupons, if your store is set up in USD and the value is 5, then the coupon generated will be $5 discount.
Note: Coupon codes are only generated when your customer redeems the reward
Dedicated to the Free Shipping coupon, this field allows you to set up a maximum amount that will be covered by the free shipping.
E.g. 15 (in a USD store) means that it will be free shipping for every shipping method below or equals to $15.
Sometimes, it may be important to limit a reward to 1 per customer for example. Ekoma allows you to do so by setting up this field.
What if I don’t set value?
When no value is provided, the collection time will be unlimited.
In order to create a sense of urgency, you can set this value to the number of days this reward will be active once redeemed. This option is only available for Freebies and Coupons, and once the date is reached, the coupou code will no longer be valid.
What if I don’t set value?
Leaving this field blank, will allow this reward to be useable without any limit of time.
This option might be the most important as it refers to the amount of currency point your customers will have to exchange to redeem this reward.
What if I don’t set a value?
Leaving this field blank will prevent your customers from being able to exchange their points against this reward. This rewards will, however, remain available for you to assign it for your loyalty program actions and referral program.

Freebies
Freebies are free SKUs from your store. Similarly to coupons, Ekoma will generate a new coupon code when redeemed. This coupon code will write off 100% of the SKU price at checkout. To create it, select the list of products you wish to give away and Ekoma will take care of the rest. Freebies are great trust-builder for your customer base. Everybody loves to receive gifts, especially when it allows us to discover new products and for you to maybe liquidate inventory or promote new products!

Custom Rewards
When none of the rewards’ types allow you to achieve what you are looking for, the Custom Reward will most likely be the solution. Custom rewards are adaptable gifts. Provide your customers with a description, an image, and a title to inform them about what they are getting. Once your customer redeems this reward, you will automatically receive an email with all of the information to get in contact with this customer and handle the transaction (customer and reward information).

Rewards created, now what?

Redeemable Rewards
Every reward created can be redeemed by customers if you set a point value for it.
Picture this point value like an exchange rate. When a customer accumulates points, they can use them in exchange for rewards you created (when you set up the point value).
Where do customers redeem their rewards?
Glad you asked…
When a customer is logged in onto your store, the widget will display the customer’s progress to the very next reward available to them. When they earn enough points, they can click the progress circle and redeem their reward. The customer will automatically be redirected to their rewards page (right button on the widget). At the same time, an email, following the same branding as your widget, will be sent to your customer describing the different rewards they just earned (with the codes if there is one).
Non-Redeemable Rewards
Non-redeemable rewards are rewards that do not have a point value. These rewards won’t be accessible for your customers to redeem against points like described in the Redeemable Reward section. However, you’ll have the choice to use these rewards for any actions available in Ekoma such as Loyalty program actions, Referral program, etc…

In conclusion...
Creating a good reward strategy requires patience, empathy, and creativity. Understanding your customer base is vital to serve them best.
Your customers will always appreciate the extra effort you are putting for them.
